Do you Believe in video game violence

fellow gamers,
i am researching and trying to prove that video game violence does not make violent people. There is a man names Jack Thompson, he has been on a campaign to stop the making of video game violence. He says that the Beltway Snipers used Halo to practice for shooting a real human. I would like to know how you feel about this topic so i could make a report and send it to Jack Thompson.
Thank you,
Doughboy2k4

I believe there is no better way to practice shooting a real man, than sitting in your room with a controller in your hands shooting plasma rifles and swinging futuristic swords at opponents across the nation.

I don't see how he would get any practice from playing halo when it takes real skill to use a gun. A real gun is nothing like holding a controller

i hate people who blame video games, like the Colombine shootings.

People should be mature enough to tell the difference between reality and fake.

<Rocker> is on a distinguished road
Remember when as kids we played cowboys vs Indians, or bad guys vs cops?

It's basically the same thing except with different technology.

No the games themselves do not soley create such actions from people.
The only way for this to happen would be for you to play violent games from the day you were born, to be shut off from the world for years so that you eat, drink and sleep violent video games, then one day to be given a gun and let outside the door. Then, you may expect, and be able to blame, a video game for any actions that occure thereafter. Until then, it can not be left up to that.

Anyway, even George W. Bush said it isn't. The columbine things, didn't he say it was because the boys had porn on their computers? A little bit of lesbian sex and the boys were ready to shoot... real people. Yeha right, and excuse the pun.

Video games likely have some element of influence, but parents should take note of the age limits, and keep to roughly them (e.g: Dont give a 10yr old a R rated game), because at that age the child may not, and likely will not, be able to be able to say to himself that it's not real, or that the reality of it would be sick, and that it's only a game.

So it can contribute in my opinion, but for someone to suggest it is the sole reason is incorrect, unintellegent, ignorant of blantantly obvious additionally contributing factors and just a scape goat. Blame is a healer.

Half of the examples that ****head uses haven't even touched a console or a controller in their entire life!

He's just searching something to blame it on!

Yeah, I'd imagine it to be easier in real life (well, not pulling the trigger, but aiming).
